Your appointment book is packed to the brim. You are putting in extra hours to ensure that you are able to meet all of the needs of your clients. The last thing that you need during this busy season is to get sick. Staying healthy is always extra important during the holidays.
Typically, we are already rushing around trying to keep it all together. We are busy trying to get every last client in imaginable as well as working to stay on top of our own family commitments. Energy and health is absolutely paramount at a time like this.
First, let’s talk about energy levels. Often, we are so busy that it’s difficult to have time to eat or fit in a meal. This is why it’s more important than ever to have some quick snacks stashed away where you can get to them easily. This means EAT if you have even a few minutes to spare during the work day. You must be prepared in case your lunch time is cut into.
Even better, try to mark out at least 30 minutes on your appointment book to grab a quick bite. Remember, you won’t be able to please any of your clients if you become to worn down to work.
Bring plenty of water to work with you as well. Also, make sure you keep it easy to access and close by so that you can sip on it throughout the day.
Make sure you clean and sanitize your work space every evening. Along with it being a busy time of year, it’s also the time of year that people tend to catch colds and become sick more frequently. You never know if your clients may have been exposed to something or if they are just getting over being sick themselves. You should also help to protect your clients that are not sick by maintaining a sanitized workplace.
Get a lot of rest. If you can, try to go to bed a little bit earlier as the days are typically long during the holidays. Along with that, arrive to work a few minutes earlier than normal. This will help you to prepare for the day and reduce your stress level which also contributes to good health.
Additionally, load up with Vitamin C. This is a great way to be proactive about staying healthy. And finally, if possible, schedule a massage for yourself. Your body will get physically tired from the long hours and it will make you feel like a million bucks.
Have a wonderful holiday!
