More than 300 salon professionals had a blast last year at the Phenix Family Reunion, and I am determined to make it an even better event this year with classes featuring the latest trends, terrific new shows and, of course, even better parties.
Look for highlights on the facing page. In addition to classes on the latest trends in coloring, cuts and barbering led by members of the Phenix artistic teams, you’ll find the latest on nail technology, including a segment on Nail Art for Beginners and, let me tell you, this is NOT easy to do – I learned that lesson when I was paired with G. Elizondo in her Phenix salon for one of the highest rated episodes of “Undercover Boss” on CBS.
Do not miss the business classes for salon professionals! I know, this is the side of our work that a lot of us dread: managing the numbers, buying insurance, marketing, etc. Make it easier on yourself. Stop worrying. Attend these sessions to minimize the pain and get the most for your efforts.
The parties will be even better this year with entertainment by great bands playing favorite funk and pop. You can count on it. The more the merrier. Be there!
We loved Caesars Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino last year. Great rooms, terrific restaurants, entertainment and amenities. We wanted a different experience, though, so we got the best of both worlds, moving just down the Vegas Strip to Caesars Planet Hollywood! This property is famous for a selection of family and adult pools, including the FlowRider, where you can ‘surf’ the Strip. Shopping includes the Miracle Mile Shops, taking a cue from the Hollywood counterpart of endless upscale browsing opportunities. And, if you love sports like me, the Playing Field Lounge is a certain destination.
