he GRAMMYs, there’s really nothing like them. It’s an evening where legends walk the red carpet and history is made in both music and style.
When it comes to style, the hair of our favorite performers can be as amazing as their outfits. Think about Rhianna’s look this year. She was strikingly beautiful wearing a dark rich brown tone verses the warmer brown that she wore last year. Her long natural curls were reminiscent of another vocal beauty; Diana Ross. She definitely demonstrated the ability to look fabulous in every tone, every length and every style.
Kellie Clarkson was equally eye catching as she walked the red carpet with her updo. She was blonder than we have seen her in the past proving that this is a shade for any season. Also, with her hair pulled back was Lady Gaga who wore a beautiful fishtail braid, a look that is still very much trending
Jenni McCarthy showed us that she’s not afraid to step outside of her comfort zone with the amazing aqua blue hair that she sported. She really wore it well emphasizing her beautiful features by tucking one side behind her ear to finish off the look. Another in pastel was the amazing Cyndi Lauper with beautiful long lavender strands that she wore in a style that left us with an 80’s feel.
Pink left her traditional mohawk behind and walked the red carpet with a very sleek style. Her hair was a stunning blonde that was swept across her forehead to one side. Katie Holmes also wore a stunning 40’s style short cut that consisted of finger waves. Both ladies illustrated that creativity is just as easy to accomplish with short styles as it is with longer ones.
Bobs have always been a friend of the red carpet and this year was no different. Ashanti wore her hair in a sleek Bob while Chrissy Teagan wore a slightly longer Bob that she paired with a gorgeous color melt. Bebe Rexha and Jenni McCarthy followed in form with this trending cut as well. Being worn straight, soft with curls or sleek, contributes to seeing this look surface on a regular basis.
Other standouts include Rita Ora with her stunning darker roots and lighter ends. However, my favorite of the evening was Janelle Monae with her slicked short cut featuring one side of her part as a solid deep dark brown contrasted with the other side as a gorgeous blonde. The look was amazing. Now, it’s time to see if others agree as we sit back and find out if it’s the next style to trend.
