Regardless of the industry, most of us have been in the same boat during the past 6 weeks. We have been unable to conduct business as usual, meaning our revenue flow has been interrupted. So, how do we keep money in our pockets and continue to create cash flow?
Begin by reviewing your list of clients and the services that are utilized most. Then, determine what type of specials, sales and discounts that you can offer which can generate income now.
After that, contact clients and let them know that you are willing to offer a discount for services that are purchased in advance. This provides immediate cash flow and it acts to keep your clients engaged with your business. This is also a perfect opportunity for you to upsell your services over the telephone.
Another consideration is selling a three-pack of a service to a client. If the client always gets a French manicure, consider offering a sliding scale discount based on the number of French manicures that the clients pay for upfront.
Next, regardless of social distancing, people will always celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other activities such as graduation and weddings. Now is the time to design an electronic gift card that can be purchased remotely by your clients and emailed to the recipients of their choice.
Speaking of wedding season, this is a perfect time to put together a group discount that can be promoted on social media. It cost very little to boost a post that targets a specific demographic, and you can share pictures of your work as well.
And, don’t forget about product sales. Depending on if your state has strict shelter in place orders, there is always an opportunity to sell product to clients, especially right now where their hair may be more unruly than normal. Make sure you know what you have in inventory. Once you have a list of the items that you have in stock, make calls to your clients and check to see how they are managing their beauty regimen. Depending on their proximity to you, it may be as easy as making a sale and dropping a product purchase off on their doorstep.
The most important thing to do right now is to think outside of the box. Get creative and watch the money come in.
