Anthony Peneschi, Regional Operations Supervisor, Colorado Springs, CO

Few people have a connection so close to a business.
“I was born into the salon industry, and I do a little bit of everything,” said Anthony Peneschi.
Phenix Founder, President and Hair Expert Gina Rivera is his aunt, and when he was in 7th grade, he spent Sundays cleaning the Rivera’s first salon on Briargate in Colorado Springs, CO.
“I’d clean everything, starting in the back and working all the way to the front,” Peneschi recalled. He’d wash windows, clean sinks, make sure that everything was filed and stored neatly, maintaining a standard that is now a hallmark for the franchised operation of more than 80 locations across the country.
“I paid for a cell phone with the money I made,” Peneschi said. And he learned the simple lesson: “work and you will be rewarded.”
That first location was an open-floor, stall-type salon, next door to the first salon suite location that is still there today.
After high school in Austin, TX, Peneschi returned to Colorado to pursue a career as a professional golfer. His granddad, Larry Peneschi, was his coach. Then, one day, Jason Rivera asked him to fill in for a Phenix receptionist in Colorado Springs. Now, Peneschi works as Regional Operations Supervisor, doing a little bit of everything and anything needed to ensure the Phenix Salons operate to the highest standards. Peneschi handles a lot of administrative work, as well, for the Riveras at the corporate headquarters, also in Colorado Springs.
