Here is my Tip of the Week for using and selecting the right products for your hair:
-Determine your hair type prior to purchasing products.
-Get in the habit of reading labels. Finer hair will require lighter products while products offering greater control should be used on thicker and courser hair.
-Keep a few staple items such as a gel, mousse and a good hairspray on the vanity.
-Select a versatile hairspray that allows for shaping and can be either medium or strong hold based on the application. (I recommend CLUTCH by Gina)
-When using gels make sure emulsify them in your hands prior to application.
-Prep your hair by towel drying it before applying products to it.
-For curly hair, tip head upside down after towel drying and applying gel. Then scrunch to get the best look.
-Use smoothing creams to create shine or to straighten. Utilize round brushes to create volume.
-Stay away from over the counter drug store products that can be damaging and drying to the hair.
