The Speaking Actors Guild (SAG) awards are one of the many fabulous evenings that we all enjoy watching. Filled with blinding lights from flash bulbs and steeped in glamour, it’s not surprising that we all continue to be hypnotized by this event. We stare anxiously awaiting to see, not only the winners, but the amazing styles.
Some enjoy the clothing while others are drawn to the beautiful jewelry, however, the hair is what mesmerizes me. This year the SAG awards didn’t fail us. There were so many stunning looks.
Michelle Williams caught my eye by rocking a long pixie. Very sexy and definitely stylish. We also saw beautiful soft Ombres like the ones worn by Kathryn Hahn and Chrissy Teigen. Both these ladies showed us that they understand how to look classy and trendy at the same time.
Color melts were trending making me know that spring is right around the corner. Along with this, we’re slowly moving away from some of the dark winter tones and seeing some lighter pieces of hair dangling freely and also in some gorgeous updos.
Taraji Henson wore a rocking style that is not new to the red carpet, an incredible asymmetrical Bob. This was very striking and classy. Sophia Vergara also communicated that spring was in the air with her style. Her shiny tresses were lighter and a bit warmer.
How about Danielle Brooks? She wore her hair twisted high on her head and finished it off with a lovely accessory. With looks like that, it’s no wonder hair accessories have been center stage this year.
I know that I keep saying this, but finger waves are here to stay as we saw on Dascha Polanco. Maisie Williams brought us a classic look that was big in the 1920’s, again in the 1950’s, and now in 2017. How neat is that?
So, the next time that you are looking for a new way to style your hair don’t be afraid to refer to pictures from the award shows. You can always find new looks as well as looks from past era’s. It’s both inspiring and nostalgic. I will be at the GRAMMYs next week and I am already thinking; “What will my red carpet look be?” I can’t wait to surprise you, I hope you will tune in and see!
