It’s a beautiful bottle and; your hair looked great when the hairstylist used the product on you at the shop. So, you selected to purchase it and bring it home to give it a whirl. However, now you aren’t sure how much to use let alone if you even like the product.
So how do you ensure that you are getting the proper styling products for your hair type and style? There’s definitely a few rules of thumb you will want to go by.
To start, keep a few staple items on or near the vanity. This list includes items such as a gel, mousse and a good hairspray. We can all use these products as long as they are selected to go with your hair type meaning fine or thick. I recommend CLUTCH by-Gina for the hairspray. It’s a versatile, workable spray that gives a medium to strong hold without dulling the hair. It also allows the user the ability to shape and reshape as much as needed and it’s great on any texture of hair.
However, let’s say you’re looking for a wavy style that is natural. The best prep for this is to towel dry the hair and then use a dime to quarter size of gel. You will want to emulsify the gel evenly throughout the palms of the hand. Then, tip your hair upside down and begin to let the airflow of the dryer move throughout the hair. Once the hair is over half dry, begin to scrunch the hair in the palms of the hands as you dry the hair.
What if you want a smoother, yet natural look. To get this, make sure you have the right brushes on hand as well as the right products. Start by styling a soft bang, or soft edges in general, you can take a round brush and blow the hair up away from the forehead. This will add volume to your bangs. then take the dryer and begin to blow the bangs straight down without the brush this will give a straighter more voluminous look.
For naturally curly bangs you can use a good curl product or definer. Again, emulsify it with your hands and apply to the bang softly twisting the curl with your finger and let air dry.
The most important thing is to keep in mind that there is always a product that can help to enhance whatever look you are going for. Don’t forget to stay away from drug store products that can dry out the hair. Make sure to read the label to ensure that you are getting a product that is fitting for your texture of hair and the look you want to achieve.
Happy styling, can’t wait to see your look.
