Here’s my Tip of the Week for cleaning your personal at-home brushes and combs.
-Make a schedule to clean brushes and combs at least twice per month.
-First, use a comb or a rat tail comb and remove the hair on your brush and its bristles.
-Next, soak brushes and combs in hot water with a tablespoon of shampoo and baking soda for 30 minutes.
-Then, pat dry and rinse.
-Finally, once clean look at the brushes and combs to check if they need replacement. Old tools can pull on your hair breaking it and damaging it. (Hint: Replacement is required when brush bristles look melted and separated or combs look chalky and melted)
-Use 6 months as your standard gauge for replacing brushes and combs to ensure your hair stays in the best health.
