As most of you know, I have spent my life in the beauty industry. I was blessed to learn key lessons from my parents: Have great communication skills; Be attentive to your clients during their appointments, and perhaps most important; take time to share your craft and help others that are learning.
The beauty industry has some amazing people but it also has many egos. It’s sad when those with talent in any industry fail to share it and instead, select to remain focused on themselves and their own attributes. This is a mistake.
I am in favor of having pride and confidence in what you do but make sure to remain humble. I have spoken at many beauty schools across the country and I have witnessed how sharing personal experiences can touch a young person’s life. So, share your gift. Take the time. You never know when you may be changing someone’s life.
