About the Salon

Year 2013, I decided to do the Big Chop and rock the natural look fromtwist-outs to puffs and periodically box braids. As a braider, it was a gotoo until year 2018, while contemplating starting the loc journey. Well, Iwent to a hair school and did the comb coils. Okay, I must admit, afterthe results, I was embarrassed for many reasons: they were skinny, andthe shrinkage was real, having a big forehead, but I knew it was easy,especially searching Google and YouTube and seeing other people’sjourneys. Okay, so while obtaining a second job as a braider in a NaturalHair Shop in North Charleston, South Carolina, I developed the love oflocs more watching the locticians perform their skills from comb coils,interlock, palm rolls ,micro loc and sister locs. Now still being a braider, Itrusted one of the locticians to palm roll me every four weeks. Within 3months, I was so eager to be a loctician. The owner took the time to teachand guide me. By month four, I was starting and retwisted clients andslowly developed a skill of re-twisting my own. I learned to trust theprocess.
