A £1 MILLION makeover has transformed a prime York site into a new hub for hair and beauty professionals. Phenix Salon Suites has created 26 salon suites for local hairdressers, beauticians and wellness experts at No. 1 Micklegate which has opened following a three-month revamp. The property was previously home to Nisbets Catering Supplies from 2016 until 2023 after it had lain empty for two years following the departure of Budgens supermarket. The new workspace has been designed to help professionals, including barbers, tattooists and nail technicians, who want to rent their own space and be independent within a creative community.
