Hairbrained – Hair and Attire Pair Well on Red Carpet by Beauty Expert, Gina Rivera

When you’re talking the runway, you can hardly avoid noticing how well the beautiful outfits pair with the hairstyles and accessories. This year, Beauty and Hair Expert, Gina Rivera joins forces with Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist, Rachael Wirkus to review the incredible Oscars event. Both experts focused on gorgeous embellishments that were worn in both the hair and the clothing making the looks perfect for the star-studded evening.

Wirkus noted how jewelry was definitely making a statement that included both diamonds and colored stones. In some occasions, jewelry was worn as part of the dress itself. Salma Hayek wore gorgeous diamonds layered upon the neckline and sleeves of her dress. Rivera noted that the simple chignon which she selected was the ideal complement. Hayek’s look was softened by face framing pieces that dangled beautifully around her face.

Margo Robbie followed suit with a white strapless number that was also wonderfully decorated with pearls. Rivera, who always notes the versatility of the bob, complimented Robbie’s straight blunt bob with a bend as the right choice for the evening. Very elegant, yet not overdone.

Wirkus noted her favorite outfit of the night was the strapless pink gown from Calvin Klein by Appointment that Saoirse Ronan wore. It was simple, but oh so chic, and the color was perfect! Rivera felt that Ronan’s blunt straight Bob looked equally savvy making it the perfect marriage.

Mary J. Blige looked fantastic wearing a sparkly bustier white gown by Versace. This look was definitely a favorite of Rivera who referenced Blige’s longer Mohawk, mixed with blonde tresses ,as absolutely mesmerizing.

Zendaya has definitely transcended from her child star days to the big time. Her whimsical gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture was extremely captivating. Her hair was fabulously styled in a high slicked back bun demonstrating that glamour is still alive and well in Hollywood.

Taraji P Henson, in her custom Vera Wang, was another one that viewers didn’t want to miss according to Wirkus. Rivera agreed stating that Henson “rocked” the Bob which shined as it gently brushed her shoulders.
